Xiaomi Mi 6C Leak Reveals Dual Camera Setup, Surge S2 Processor

Xiaomi is working on a lighter version of its Mi 6 smartphone, and it will be called Mi 6C. The details of the upcoming device have been leaked online. Xiaomi Mi 6C is said to feature a 12-megapixel dual rear camera setup and will be powered by Surge S2 chip.

Xiaomi Mi 6C is expected to come in two variants – 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB storage. The two options will be priced at 1999 Yuan (Rs. 19,000 approx.) and 2499 Yuan (Rs. 24,000 approx.) respectively. The phone earlier appeared on Geekbench listing codenamed Jason. Now, from a post on the Chinese social network Weibo, its further specs are revealed.

The device will come with the company’s in-house Surge S2 chipset. It is an octa-core processor with four A73 cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and four A53 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz along with Mali-G71MP12 GPU. To recall, the Chinese smartphone maker had earlier launched Surge S1 chip which was used in the Xiaomi Mi 5C. Now, this Mi 6C is said to be the successor of that phone.

It is speculated from leaked specifications that it is likely to come with an aluminum alloy body. Xiaomi Mi 6C will feature a 5.1 inch full HD display (1920 x 1080 pixels). The phone will run the recently launched MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1 Nougat.

The upcoming phone is expected to feature a dual rear camera setup with 12MP Sony IMX386 CMOS and a 5 MP secondary camera. The rear camera is said to support 4K video recording also.

The Xiaomi Mi 6C comes with a USB Type-C port and dual speakers at the bottom. The device may not feature a 3.5mm audio jack.

Earlier last month, the company has launched Mi 5X in China. And, now with this another launch, the company will further enhance its Mi phone’s line-up. The smartphone could be unveiled in the fourth quarter of this year.

Coming to the price, the device is expected to be priced at CNY 2,000 for the 4GB RAM, 64 GB storage variant and CNY 2,500 for the 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage variant.
