Sharp Aquos S2 With Bezel-less Display To Be Announced In China

Japanese smartphone maker Sharp is set to announce its latest flagship device, the Sharp Aquos S2. The bezel less smartphone will be launched at a Global Launch Conference in Beijing, China. The Sharp Aquos S2 will pack a 5.5 inch display with a bezel-less body.

Having a bezel-less display, the Sharp Aquos S2 has an 84.95% screen to body ratio. Also, according to rumours and renders, we can expect Dual cameras, Snapdragon 630/660 with up to 6GB RAM and an Under-display fingerprint sensor.

Talking about its USP first, the Sharp Aquos S2 is set to pack a 5.5 inch bezel-less display with 2048 x 1080p resolution. Leaked renders show the phone featuring a fingerprint sensor under the display.

We cannot say anything sure about the build quality and material used, but the company says that this 5.5-inch smartphone will be as compact as a 5-inch phone. leaked renders show a textured back panel minimal antenna bands at the top and sides. The Volume Rockers and Lock Button placed on the right side of the phone.


Moving to cameras, we may get dual cameras of 12MP each at the back. The front camera may be an 8-megapixel unit. Renders show vertically placed rear cameras with LED flash. The front camera, on the other hand, will be carved out of the Free Form Display(FFD) on the Sharp Aquos S2.

In terms of hardware, the phone is rumoured to pack a Snapdragon 630 or 660 SoC, coupled with 4GB or 6GB RAM, depending on the model. Internal memory may be 64GB and 128GB, again based on the model. The device is expected to run on Android Nougat.

The battery capacity of the Sharp Aquos S2 is not known yet. In the connectivity department, we can expect Dual Sim, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, GPS, USB Type-C, and NFC support.
