OnePlus has launched a new color for their latest flagship, the OnePlus 5. The device will also come in Soft Gold color now. Apart from the new color and other minor aesthetic tweaks, there are no changes in terms of specifications.
While the OnePlus 5 was originally launched in Midnight Black and Slate Gray colors, the Soft Gold is a good addition for those who want a powerful yet glamorous looking phone. The Soft Gold variant is much more aesthetically pleasing than the colors so far.
OnePlus 5 Soft Gold: What’s New?
With the same core specs, the Soft Gold color adds a refreshed look to the OnePlus 5. The phone comes with a Matte Finish and is just the perfect shade of Golden at the back. Also, the rear camera of this variant also has a thin Golden Rim around it. The ‘1+’ branding at the back is also embossed in a shinier Gold color.
Coming to the front, we have white color bezels on the OnePlus 5 Soft Gold variant. While everything remains the same, the bezels on top and bottom of the screen look a bit chunkier (thanks to the white color).
Also, the OnePlus 5’s curved 2.5D glass is more eminently visible because of the white bezels. The intricate aesthetics don’t end here. The front-mounted fingerprint sensor also has a Gold rim around it now. These small additions have made the OnePlus 5 Soft Gold, a premium device in terms of look and feel.
The antenna bands blend well, the volume rockers, profile slider, and power button also look good in the gold touch. Even the screws at the bottom of the OnePlus 5 Soft Gold variant are Golden.

The OnePlus 5 comes with a 5.5-inch Optic AMOLED display. It has Dual cameras of 16MP and 20MP at the back and 16MP front-facing camera. The OnePlus 5 runs on Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with either 6GB/64GB or 8GB/128GB RAM and ROM. You also get near-stock Android with latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
You get a 3,300 mAh battery, Dual Sim support, latest USB Type-C and a 3.5mm earphone jack.
Pricing and Availability
The OnePlus 5 with 6GB RAM and 64GB ROM is priced at Rs. 32,999. The phone will be available from August 9, this year. Since OnePlus 5 is an Amazon exclusive, we expect the Soft Gold variant to also go online through Amazon India. The device will also be available through OnePlus Experience stores in Bangalore, Mall of India, Noida and Select Citywalk in New Delhi.
