Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A Leak Reveals 13MP Camera, HD Display

Recent renders and specifications of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A have surfaced online. The renders show the Redmi Note 5A from all sides and the specifications tell the phone’s performance. After all, it looks like the Redmi Note 5A will be an affordable and downsized Redmi Note 5.

 

The leaks that have surfaced on Slash leaks, also disclose the price and release date. The Redmi Note 5A is expected to be priced at CNY 999 and be available from August 21, this year.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A Leaked Specifications

Since the Redmi Note 5A was speculated to be a downsized Redmi Note 5, the specs show that the downsizing has considerably taken its toll on the Redmi Note 5A. Let us have a look at the specs and compare them to the Redmi Note 5 side-by-side.

Starting with the display, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A is expected to come with a 5.5 inch HD display. The Note 5A leaks do not show a Fingerprint sensor which is present on the Redmi Note 5.


You may get a 13MP rear and 5MP front camera from the Note 5A, whereas the Redmi Note 5 is expected to pack a Dual Camera setup.

In terms of hardware, the considerable downsizing may leave the Redmi Note 5A with a Snapdragon 425 processor, coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM. These specifications look low when compared to the Note 5’s rumoured Snapdragon 630 processor, 4GB RAM, and 64GB ROM.

Coming to performance, you may see the Redmi Note 5A coming with Android 7.1.1 Nougat, running MIUI 9 on top.

Xiaomi Note series has always been remarked for its battery backup. The Redmi Note 5A may get a 3,080 mAh battery. Talking about the Redmi Note 5, you may see a 3,790 mAh battery with Quick Charge capabilities.

Pricing and Availability

The newly surfaced Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A is speculated to be priced at CNY 999, which translates roughly to Rs. 9,600. The Note 5A is expected to be available from August 21 this year.

Talking about the more expensive Redmi Note 5, you may see the device priced at CNY 1,200 which translates to Rs. 12,000. The Redmi Note 5 is expected to go on sale in China initially by the end of this month.
