Samsung Releases New Galaxy Note 8 Teaser, Says “Do Bigger Things”

Korean conglomerate Samsung has released a teaser of the much-awaited Android flagship phone of the year, Galaxy note 8. The teaser says “Do Bigger Things” and “DoWhatYouCant” on its upcoming phone that will be unveiled during Samsung unpacked event on 23 August 2017.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is expected to come with an IP68 water-resistance certification. The leaked build shows Bixby button and Volume Rockers to the left and Lock button to the right. The dimensions are set at 162.5mm x 74.6mm, bearing 8.5mm thickness.

On the back, we see the Fingerprint sensor and a Dual camera setup. The leaks call it a combination of 2 lenses of 12MP each. The Wide-Angle lens will come with f/1.7 aperture and Dual-Pixel autofocus and the Telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture and 2x Optical zoom. Both lenses feature OIS. The front camera will be an 8MP unit with f/1.7 aperture and Auto focus lens.

Regarding display, the leaks have finalized a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display with 1440×2960 resolution and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. Looking at the leaks, we can see it is close to S8’s Infinity display, with 2.5D curved glass.


One of the biggest confirmations from the final leaks is hardware. The leaks report the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to come with Samsung’s in-house Exynos 8895 chipset. Although, in the US model, we may see a Snapdragon 835 processor. Both chips are design on Samsung’s 10nm FinFET technology. Along with that comes 6GB RAM and 64GB ROM with microSD card expansion option.

No big leaks about the software or OS tweaks are out yet, but we can expect the Note 8 to run Android 7.1 Nougat. along with that, we may see the Grace UI and an Always-On display.

In terms of battery, Evan’s leaks confirm a 3,300 mAh battery with fast charging feature both on wired on wireless. Also confirming a USB Type-C port.

Overall, Samsung is going on all out specifications blitz to retain the lost glory of Note series. We have to wait and see if Samsung has any other surprises in the store to awe us. Keep tuned to our page for more coverage on Galaxy Note 8.
