Vivo Sends Invites For Launch Of Vivo V7+, A New Selfie-focused Phone

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo has sent out invites to the launch of the Vivo V7+. The V7+ will be succeeding the Vivo V5+. The invite says ‘Clear Shot Clear Moment’, along with ‘Redefine the Selfie experience with the revolutionary selfie camera’. These lines make it clear that this will be a camera centric device.

Other than a Selfie-focused smartphone, the handset shown in the invite features minimal bezels. Although it is just an outline of the device, we can have an idea about Vivo trying to go Bezel-less with the Vivo V7+.

While the Vivo V7+ is yet to be released, reports suggest that the Vivo X9s will be launched as the Vivo V7+ in India. This logic is derived from the fact that the Vivo X9 was launched in India as the Vivo V5 Plus last year.

Since the X9s came in two variants, the Vivo X9s and the X9s Plus. So the company may decide to launch two variants here in India as well. Here are the specifications of the Vivo X9s and X9s Plus.

Starting with the Vivo X9s, the phone sports a 5.5-inch AMOLED panel with Full HD resolution. On the other hand, the bigger Vivo X9s Plus comes with a 5.85-inch AMOLED panel with Full HD resolution.

Both phones are the same when it comes to cameras. In the Vivo X9 as well as the X9 Plus, you get a 16MP rear camera with LED flash and PDAF. The front camera features a dual-lens setup with a primary 20MP and a secondary 5MP lens for depth. The front camera comes with Soft LED flash for better selfies.

Varying slightly in the hardware department, the Vivo X9 packs a Snapdragon 652 processor, whereas the X9 Plus packs a slightly faster Snapdragon 835 processor. Apart from the processor, both phones come with 4GB RAM and 64GB Internal memory.

In terms of performance also, you get Android 7.1 Nougat with FunTouch OS on both phones. Although the Vivo X9s Plus may perform slightly better because of a faster processor.

Coming to the battery, the Vivo X9s packs a 3,320 mAh battery whereas the X9s Plus is powered by a big 4,015 mAh battery. Both phones come with fast charging, Dual Sim, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, and WiFi as connectivity options.

Pricing and Availability

Since we expect the Vivo X9s to debut as the Vivo V7+, we can expect the phone to be priced equivalent to its Chinese counterpart. In China, the Vivo X9s is priced at CNY 2,698 (Roughly Rs. 25,900) and the X9s Plus is priced at CNY 2,998 (Roughly Rs. 28,800).

The accurate prices and availability of these devices will be known once they’re launched in India on September 7.
