LG K8 (2017) With Android 7.0 Nougat Launched In India For Rs. 9,999

LG has silently launched an entry-level smartphone LG K8 (2017) in India. The LG K8 was first showcased earlier this year in the company’s K series. Now it has made its debut into the Indian market. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 11,000 despite having entry-level specifications.

As per Mahesh Telecom, a Mumbai based retailer, LG has reportedly launched the LG K8 in India at the market price of Rs 11,00. However, the retailer claims to offer the LG K8 (2017) smartphone for Rs 9,999 only.

LG K8 (2017) Specifications

Coming to the specifications of the device, the LG K8 features a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) In-Cell IPS display and comes with a 2.5D curved glass. It runs on the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.

The device is powered by a Quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset, which is coupled with 1.5GB of RAM. The smartphone has 16GB of internal storage and it can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card.

Camera wise, the LG K8 comes with a 13MP primary camera with an LED flash and it sports a 5MP front facing camera. There is a fingerprint located at the back of the device. It also has sensors such as proximity, and ambient light sensor, etc.

The dual SIM LG K8 is powered by a 2,500 mAh battery. Connectivity options it offers are 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS, NFC, and micro USB 2.0 port.

The LG K8’s entry level hardware does not justify its pricing. There are many affordable alternatives such as the Redmi 4A, Coolpad Cool 1 Dual, etc. available with such specs. Micromax recently launched the Micromax Canvas Infinity, which sports an Infinity display and almost same hardware.

The South Korean smartphone company has itself recently launched the LG Q6 smartphone in India, which features an 18:9 display and has been priced at Rs. 14,990.

Price and Availability

The LG K8 is priced at Rs. 11,000 but it is currently being offered at Rs. 9,999. LG has confirmed that the device will be available for purchase via offline stores only.
