Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 May Come With Snapdragon 836 on October 5

Recent leaks confirm the processor chip on the upcoming Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2. Confirmed to be a Snapdragon 836 chip, this year’s Pixel phones may be the first to feature this processor. No release date is yet known for the Snapdragon 836 processor.

Famous tipster Evan Blass confirmed the Snapdragon 836 processor, and October 5 as the release date for this year’s Pixel phones. Earlier unveiled FCC listing makes clear that the Pixel 2 will be HTC manufactured with a squeezable frame, while the Pixel XL 2 expected to be made by LG.

Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 Specifications

A recent tweet from Evan Blass has confirmed the Pixel 2 and the Pixel XL 2 to pack a Snapdragon 836 SoC. The yet-unannounced Snapdragon 836 processor is expected to succeed the Snapdragon 835 processor in upcoming smartphones. Here are the other specifications of the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2.

Starting with the display, you may get a 4.97-inch Full HD display on the Google Pixel. The Pixel XL, on the other hand, is expected to sport a 5.99-inch Quad-HD panel. Both are expected to be AMOLED panels.


In the camera department, both the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 may offer 12MP primary and 8MP front-facing cameras. The rear cameras on both devices are expected to come with Dual-Tone Dual LED Flash along with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization).

Hardware is the department where the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 may show their power. Recent leaks confirm a Snapdragon 836 processor on both the smartphones, which may also be the first phones to come with Snapdragon 836 SoC. Accompanying the processor will be 4GB RAM combined with 64GB storage on Pixel 2, and 128GB Internal Storage on the Pixel XL 2.

Coming to performance, Pixel devices have been the first to receive any updates from Android. Both the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 are expected to run stock Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box.

Battery capacity is not known as of yet, but we can say that Pixel XL 2 will come with a bigger battery in comparison to Pixel 2. On the connectivity front, you may get a USB Type-C port, 3.5mm earphone jack, Bluetooth, NFC, and WiFi.

No speculations are there about the pricing of the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2. Although the launch is expected to unveil on October 5, the Snapdragon 836 processor will ensure it is the next generation flagship.
