The wait for the JioPhone is over as the pre-booking for the Phone will start today from 5.30pm across Reliance retail stores, Jio website, and MyJio App. The 4G feature phone will be delivered to in September on first-come, first serve basis.
As per Reliance Jio, the handset is essentially free, though consumers will have to make a refundable security deposit of Rs. 1,500. However, you need to pay only Rs. 500 when you make the pre-booking.
How to Book Jio Phone?
Online Booking
First, talking about online booking. You have to go to jio.com or MyJio app to pre-book the Jio Phone.
To pre-book JioPhone using the MyJio app, just download the MyJio app from Play Store. Now, open the app and tap on the Pre-book Now option. Provide your phone number and the pin code of your area, and tap on Proceed and pay 500 rupees.
The booking should now be done. You will get a booking ID on the app and an SMS as well. It will also provide the details of retailer along with the address. The booking ID sent to you can be used while picking it up from the designated retailer.
Similarly, to book a device for a friend or family member, input their phone number and delivery pin code. Make the payment of Rs. 500. The booking is done but the SMS will be sent to your friend or family and you will also get the details such as the address of the retailer and the booking ID.
It is to be noted that initially the payment of only Rs. 500 is needed for a token amount. While the remaining Rs. 1,000 needs to be paid while picking up the handset.
Offline Booking
On the other hand, if you want to pre book it from offline Reliance stores, just visit your nearest stores with your details and make the booking.
JioPhone Delivery
The JioPhone will start being delivered in September first week. The delivery dates for JioPhone will depend on how early you book the device. Since, Reliance Jio is following the first-come, first-serve rule, so, those who book it early will definitely get it earlier. So, consumers need to make sure to be ready at 5:30 PM with the details when pre-orders open.
It is also to be mentioned that the company aims to deliver 50 lakhs units of the handset per week. However, since its demand is going to be very high, early booking is sure to be beneficial.
JioPhone Features
