YotaPhone 3 With Secondary Display, 4GB RAM, Snapdragon 625 Announced

Russian smartphone maker Yota is all set to bring the YotaPhone 3 in China, with the device being announced today at an event in the Russian Embassy. Known for its secondary E-ink display, this will be the third device from Yota to feature a display on the back as well.

Yota has announced the YotaPhone 3 to come with a 5.5-inch primary display and a 5.2-inch E-Ink display at the back. Other features include a Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB RAM, and 64/128GB storage options.

YotaPhone is a smartphone from the Russian manufacturer Yota. Among other features, the USP of YotaPhone is the secondary E-Ink display at the back of the phone. Since E-ink displays are paper-like and made for reading, you can read content on the secondary display, without straining your eyes.

For the Primary display, YotaPhone 3 uses a 5.5-inch AMOLED panel with full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. The Secondary E-Ink display at the back is a 5.2-inch panel with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution.


Coming to cameras, you get a 12MP rear camera with dual tone LED flash and Autofocus. You also get a front-facing camera of 13MP for selfies and video calling on the YotaPhone 3.

On the hardware front, Yota has decided to use an octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, coupled with 4GB RAM and two storage variants of 64GB and 128GB. YotaPhone 3 will also support microSD card for memory expansion.

Talking about Performance and Usage here, the YotaPhone 3 runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Yota OS 3.0 on top. The Yota OS is optimized to power both displays on your YotaPhone.

Powered by a 3,300 mAh non-removable battery, the YotaPhone 3 is equipped with a USB Type-C port for connectivity. Other connectivity tools include a 3.5mm earphone jack, Bluetooth, and WiFi.

Pricing and Availability

Pre-order for the YotaPhone 3 will start from September 5 on JD.com while the sale starts on September 18. The 64GB variant will bear a price tag of $360 (Roughly Rs.23,000), and the 128GB storage variant will come at $465 (Which is roughly Rs. 29,000).
