In simple terms, a DAC is a Digital-to-Analog Converter which allows minimum loss of quality by refining the output. In audio terms, the Hi-Fi Quad DAC emphasizes on minimizing distortion and noise to keep the sound as close to the original source as possible.

Based on the Hi-Fi Quad DAC sported by the LG V20, an Advanced Hi-Fi Quad DAC with ESS technology’s SABRE ES9218P has been announced for the LG V30. This Advance Hi-Fi Quad DAC offers the same refinement along with newly introduced customization options.

Some of its specialties include Digital Filters which give you more refined output in various modes like Live, Enhanced, Bass, or Treble. The new DAC controls left and right audio channels separately, giving better-detailed sound. Combining tech from their partner MQA, LG has also made sure that the audio output is in high-resolution.

Not only the output but also recording on the LG V30 is will be of higher quality. It features an HD Audio Recorder and a Receiver-As-a-Mic (RAM) to record and reproduce loud sounds crisply.
