Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2017) with 8-inch display, 5000mAh now official

Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy Tab A (2017) in Vietnam. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2017) comes in Black and Gold colors and has priced at 64,90,000 Vietnamese Dong which roughly converts to Rs. 18,200 approx. It comes in both Wi-Fi (SM-T380) and 4G variants (SM-T385) and  the 4G version is already on sale in Vietnam.

The Galaxy Tab A (2017) is not a high-end tablet, but it is similar to recent mid-range smartphones. Samsung has used a premium metal design this time which makes it look a lot more premium than other mid-range Galaxy tablets. It has an 8-inch WXGA display with Samsung’s signature home button and menu buttons below the display.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A features an 8-inch WXGA TFT display with a resolution of 1280 x 800. It measures 212.1 x 124.1 x 8.9mm and weighs 364 grams. It runs on Android 7.1 Nougat.

It is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor with Adreno 308 GPU. It packs 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB with a microSD card.

For imaging, it sports an 8MP autofocus rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash. The camera comes with some additional settings such as HDR and Creative Pro mode to create your own mark. There is a 5MP front-facing camera.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE with voice calling support, WIFI a/b/g/n (2.4 + 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS with GLONASS and Beidou. It is fuelled by a 5,000mAh battery which Samsung claims to provides up to 14 hours of video playback time.

Pricing and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2017) is priced at 64,90,000 Vietnamese Dong (Rs. 18,230 approx.) for the 4G version. It comes in Black and Gold colors and is already on sale in the country. There is no information on its availability in other countries.
