Soon after the launch of the Vivo V7+, the company is being questioned about the credibility of the 24MP front camera. While Vivo says their front camera is a 24MP unit, the Snapdragon 450 processor used in Vivo V7+ supports a single camera up to 21MP.
While this revelation created some doubts about Vivo’s credibility, the company has issued a statement, clarifying the doubts surrounding the Vivo V7+. The company has said,
“We appreciate your interest in Vivo and our products. Vivo would like to reiterate that the new Vivo V7+ front camera sensor is indeed capable of shooting 24MP photos. The Qualcomm website will be updated shortly to include support of this specification. We always guarantee the authenticity of our information, as well as our dedication to innovation and our consumers.”
What is the matter?
When Vivo launched the Vivo V7+, some features of the phone were in doubt. According to Vivo, the V7+ sports a 24MP front camera and a 16MP rear camera. However, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset used in the phone reportedly does not support cameras beyond 21MP.
On one hand, there were some reports that said Vivo has laid false claims and on the other, some reports indicated that Qualcomm mentioned the maximum specification of their Snapdragon 450 processor till a safe level. This means that Vivo is using an optimized version of the Snapdragon 450 to support their 24MP camera.
