Asus launches Zenfone 4 Selfie and Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro in India

Taiwanese smartphone maker Asus today launched three new smartphones in its Zenfone 4 Selfie series at an event held in New Delhi. The devices that are unveiled are, the Zenfone 4 Selfie in two variants, and Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro. The pricing starts at Rs. 9,999 and these will be available exclusively on Flipkart.

Asus is boasting these phones as selfie camera centric, and two of the devices come with dual front cameras. The Zenfone 4 Selfie dual camera version and Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro come with dual front cameras while there is also a single camera version of Zenfone 4 Selfie.

The phones were earlier launched in Taiwan last month along with the flagship Zenfone 4 Pro and one more variant of it. However, the company has launched only selfie series phones in India. The devices will go on sale starting September 21.

Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie Specifications

The Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie features a 5.5 inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS LCD display. The phone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with Zen UI 4.0. The phones are upgradeable to Android O, the company has announced.


The Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie Single camera variant is powered by Octa-Core Snapdragon 430 SoC with Adreno 505 GPU. It is further packed with 3GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage which is expandable up to 2TB GB via microSD. It supports triple slot to feature two SIMs and a microSD.

In the camera department, it features a 13 MP front camera with LED flash and a 140-degree wide angle lens. It also packs SelfieMaster app. The rear camera is also 13MP with PDAF and dual-tone LED flash.

On connectivity front it supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPSand is powered by a 3,000mAh battery.

On the other hand, the dual camera version of Zenfone 4 Selfie is different only in terms of camera and memory. It packs the same hardware but comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage which is also expandable to 2TB.

Since it is a selfie focused phone, it features a dual camera setup at the front. The primary front camera is 20 MP with LED flash while the secondary camera is of 8MP with a 120-degree wide angle lens. The rear camera is 16MP with PDAF and dual-tone LED flash.

The Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro features a 5.5 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED display with 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass. The phone runs Android 7.0 Nougat with Zen UI 4.0. It is also upgradable to Android O.

The Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro packs a more powerful hardware. It comes with an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor clocked at 2GHz with Adreno 506 GPU. The phone packs 4GB RAM and 64GB storage which is expandable up to 2TB.

The phone is upgraded on the camera front from Zenfone 4 selfie. The dual camera setup at front features a 24MP DuoPixel technology. Both the cameras are of 12MP. The primary 12MP camera comes with a Sony IMX362 sensor, f/1.8 aperture and 1.4µm pixel size. The secondary 12MP camera comes with a 120-degree wide angle lens. You can shoot 4K UHD selfie videos as well. The rear camera is 16MP sensor with PDAF, EIS and dual-tone LED flash.

On the connectivity front, it includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS. The phone is powered by 3,000mAh battery with fast charge support.

Pricing and Availability

The Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro costs Rs. 23,999. It will be available in Rouge Red, Sunlight Gold, and Deepsea Black color options. Both the versions of the Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie come in Deepsea Black, Rose Pink, Sunlight Gold colors. The Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie single camera version is priced at Rs. 9,999 while the dual camera variant is priced at Rs. 14,999.

All the three phones will be exclusively available on Flipkart, starting September 23. Interestingly, the dual camera version of Zenfone 4 Selfie will be available for at a discounted price of Rs. 13,999 during the Flipkart’s Big Billion sale.  Also, all the phones come with 100GB free additional data offer from Reliance Jio.
