Gionee M7 with full-screen AMOLED display launching on September 25

Gionee has officially announced that its latest Gionee M7 smartphone will be launched on September 25 at an event in Beijing. The company has also confirmed that the phone uses Samsung’s AMOLED full-screen display with 18:9 aspect ratio.

The Gionee M7 is the successor to last year’s M6 smartphone. Also, just like the last year, Gionee will launch a plus variant of this phone- M7 Power which packs a huge battery. The company has also scheduled M7 Power event in Thailand on September 28th. It will also come with a FullView display.

Apart from the launch poster from Gionee, the live images of the front panel of the M7 have also been revealed. A couple of images of the smartphone have been surfaced on Chinese microblogging site Weibo showing the front panel of the Gionee M7.

As per the leaked images, ultra-narrow bezels are used in the Gionee M7. Similar to the outline on launch poster, these images also hint that the phone might feature a near bezel-less display which has become a trend in the smartphone world this year. Gionee VP, Yu Lei said that the most smartphones these days came with the full screen, but the phone would be different from others.

Coming to the specifications, the GFXBench listing has already revealed that M7 will feature a 6 inch Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) screen with 18:9 aspect ratio. The phone will be powered by the latest MediaTek Helio P30 processor with Mali G71 GPU. Memory wise it will pack 6GB RAM and 64GB storage.

The phone will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. In terms of camera, the M7 is expected to sport a 16MP primary camera with autofocus and flash. Other camera features might include 4K video recording, PDAF, HDR, and touch focus. At the front, it is tipped to sport an 8MP secondary camera.

The full specifications will be revealed only after the Gionee M7 launch event which is scheduled on September 25th at 3 PM China time (12:30 PM IST).
