HMD Global managed Nokia is expected to launch their flagship smartphone, the Nokia 8 here in India on September 26. The Nokia 8 was launched last month and the company had announced that the device would be launched globally by September.
According to a report by 91Mobiles, the Nokia 8 will be launching in India on September 26. The latest Nokia flagship from HMD Global comes with a 5.3 inch display, splash resistant body, Carl Zeiss Optics, and a powerful Snapdragon 835 processor. Featuring dual rear cameras and an Always-On display as some of the premium features, the Nokia 8 is HMD Global’s flagship smartphone.
Nokia 8 Specifications
To recall, the Nokia 8 is the first flagship device from HMD Global featuring a 5.3-inch IPS LCD panel with quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) resolution. The smartphone comes with an always-on display and features an IP54 splash resistance. In terms of sound, the Nokia 8 comes with Ozo audio.
Featuring Carl Zeiss optics, the Nokia 8 comes with a dual camera setup with an RGB + Monochrome lens combination. Both lenses in the setup are 13MP each. The camera combination is aimed at enhanced clarity. A 13MP front-facing camera is also given for selfies and video calling.
In terms of hardware, the Nokia 8 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, clocked at 2.45GHz coupled with Adreno 540 GPU. This combination is backed by 4GB RAM and 64Gb Internal storage, with up to 256GB expansion option.
On the software front, the Nokia 8 runs stock Android 7.1.1 Nougat and will be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo as well. HMD Global is also doing really well with providing monthly updates for Nokia smartphones. The company has even promised to offer two years of monthly security updates.
Powered by a 3,090 mAh non-removable battery, it comes with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 for fast charging. Standard connectivity options include WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB Type-C, and 4G VoLTE compatibility.
Pricing and Availability
Nokia 8 is priced at 599 Euros for now, the Indian price translates at Rs. 46,000. However, it is expected that the device will be priced below Rs. 45,000 in India. The Nokia 8 could come in Matte Silver, Matte Blue, Polished Blue, and Polished Copper colors.
