Reliance JioPhone delivery may be delayed to October 1

According to recent reports, customers who have booked the JioPhone may have to wait a little longer to get their device. Apparently, the delivery date for the device has been postponed from September 21 to October 1. Claimed to be booked by over a million people, the Reliance JioPhone was available for pre-orders from August 24.

The sim-locked feature phone from Reliance Jio is priced at Rs. 0. However, buyers have to pay Rs. 1,500 as a security deposit. This amount is fully refundable after 36 months upon returning the phone. Booked by over a million people during pre-orders, the Reliance JioPhone booking was temporarily stopped due to its high demand. Now there are speculations that the delivery of JioPhone has been delayed to October 1.

Since there is no confirmation of the delivery date being delayed, you can track the status of your booked JioPhone in two easy ways. Firstly, you can check the phone’s status by calling Jio customer care number (18008908900) using your registered mobile number.

In case you want to track your order online, you can download MyJio app on your existing phone and access the ‘Track Order’ segment. Here you will have to punch in the details of your order and you will know the status.


Reliance JioPhone Specifications

To recall, the Reliance JioPhone features a 2.4-inch QVGA resolution display. It is a 4G VoLTE phone with Reliance Jio sim locked into it. The feature phone equips a 2MP rear camera and a front-facing VGA camera.

Currently powered by a Spreadtrum 9820A processor coupled with Mali 400 GPU, it packs 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, and up to 128GB expandable storage option. It runs Kai OS and is capable of streaming multimedia content over 4G VoLTE.

The Reliance JioPhone comes with a 2,000 mAh battery. Standard connectivity options include WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, FM Radio, GPS, and micro USB 2.0.
