Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 leaked: Specifications, price and more

Xiaomi is preparing for the launch of the Redmi Note 5 after recently releasing the Redmi Note 5A. While the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will be the successor to last year’s Redmi Note 4, it will also come with a dual camera setup on the back.

Leaking complete specifications of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, a Weibo post points at a 5.5-inch display, dual cameras, up to 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, and a MediaTek Helio P25 processor. The MediaTek part is not surprising as Xiaomi has generally released MediaTek versions in China while the Indian market gets Qualcomm versions.

According to the Weibo post, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will be coming with a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080p) resolution, similar to what we find on the Redmi Note 4.

Coming to hardware now, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is expected to feature a MediaTek Helio P25 processor, which is a mid-range processor from MediaTek. Also, the Redmi Note 5 is expected to come in two variants i.e. 3GB RAM and 32GB memory, and 4GB RAM and 64GB memory.

Hinting at MIUI 9, leaks suggest that the Redmi Note 5 will come with Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Oreo update is not yet known about the smartphone. It is expected to come with a 4100mAh battery, with NFC, Bluetooth, WiFi, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm earphone jack rounding off the connectivity options.
