Vodafone has introduced a new plan in India with a tariff of Rs. 399 that is aimed at competing against Reliance Jio’s Rs. 399 plan. With this plan, Vodafone joins Airtel and Idea who had launched similar plans to compete against the latest entrant in the telecom segment.
Under the Rs. 399 plan, Vodafone is offering 90GB 4G data and unlimited local and STD voice calls for a period of 6 months. This means that you can use 0.5GB 4G data per day for 6 months by paying just Rs. 399 and you also get unlimited voice calls.
Tariff War
Reliance Jio is offering 1GB data per day, unlimited local and STD voice calls, free SMSs and access to Jio’s suite of apps for 84 days at Rs. 399. As a Diwali offer, the company is offering 100% cashback in the form of 8 vouchers to users recharging with the Rs. 399 plan before October 19.
The latest entrant in the telecom sector, Reliance Jio recently revealed that it is going to come up with revised tariffs on October 19 and we might also see new plans from other operators once Reliance Jio announces its new plans.
Idea Cellular, that is soon going to be merged with Vodafone has also introduced a plan recently. Under its Rs. 444 plan, the company is offering 1GB 4G data per day and free local and STD voice calls to users with 4G handsets. Users with 3G / 2G handsets will get 2GB 2G / 3G data and local and STD voice calls for 35 days.
Airtel, the country’s largest telecom operator recently introduced a plan of Rs. 495 under which the operator is offering 1GB data per day, unlimited local and STD voice calls, 99 free SMSs per day and free outgoing calls even when the user is roaming. This plan comes with a validity of 84 days.
