Chinese smartphone maker Coolpad has launched a new smartphone Cool Play 6C in China. The Cool Play 6C is a selfie-centric phone with dual front cameras and a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chipset. It is an affordable version of the Coolpad Cool Play 6 which was launched earlier this year.
The new Coolpad Cool Play 6C is an entry-level smartphone unlike the Cool Play 6 which was launched in India at Rs. 14,999. The Cool Play 6C is only a selfie-focused phone and sports dual front cameras which the biggest highlight of the smartphone.
Coolpad Cool Play 6C specifications
The Coolpad Cool Play 6C features a 5-inch HD IPS display with 2.5D curved glass on top. The smartphone offers full metal unibody design, measures 143.9×70.8×8.1mm and weighs 160 grams. This dual SIM phone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.
Being an entry-level smartphone, the Cool Play 6C is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor clocked at 1.25GHz. Memory wise it features 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.
Cameras are the highlight of the Cool Play 6C – it features dual front cameras – with an 8MP sensor along with a 5MP secondary sensor of f/2.2 aperture. The secondary camera comes with 120-degree wide angle lens for group selfies. At the back, there is a 13MP camera with PDAF and LED flash.
Connectivity options include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, and GPS. The handset is backed by a 2500mAh battery. Sensors on board include a proximity sensor, accelerometer, and an ambient light sensor.
Cool Play 6C Price and Availability
The Coolpad Cool Play 6C has been priced at CNY 849 which roughly translates to Rs. 8,400. The phone will go on sale starting November 25 in China and is already available for pre-orders via JD.com. There is no word when the phone will be launched in other countries.
