[Video] OnePlus 5T passes durability and bend tests easily

The latest flagship from OnePlus, the OnePlus 5T has managed to pass the durability and scratch and bend test with flying colors. The new 18:9 aspect ratio and minimal bezels have not affected the OnePlus 5T in terms of durability.

The build test for the phone was performed by the YouTube channel JerryRigEverything. During the test, the OnePlus 5T was scratched on the screen and the back, burnt to check display endurance, and even bent to test if the phone breaks. The OnePlus 5T managed to pass the build test well.

OnePlus 5T Durability checked

In a 5 minute long video, Zach from JerryRigEverything tested the OnePlus 5T on various parameters for durability. The first one was the scratch test, which the OnePlus 5T successfully passed. While the front and back of the glass are found to be scratch resistant to a good extent, the buttons and fingerprint sensor are also of optimal quality.

In fact, the fingerprint sensor turned out to completely damage resistant. There is also a thin layer of plastic cushioning to prevent any damage to the screen in case of a fall or bend. However, when a burn test was performed, the optic AMOLED panel on the OnePlus 5T burnt went white after 20 seconds and never recovered.

Coming to the build test, the OnePlus 5T has a slight flex to its frame but the phone remains sturdy all the time. It did not flex or pop open during the bend testing. The OnePlus 5T has similar looks to its predecessor and proves to be sturdy as well as stylish.

Thanks to the Anodized Aluminium chassis, the phone is almost scratch proof and any minor marks are gone once you wipe them with your hand. The earpiece of the OnePlus 5T is made of solid metal mesh and embedded in the chassis. This is done to avoid dust from sticking in the phone.

OnePlus 5T pricing and availability

The OnePlus 5T was launched on November 16 and it will be available as an Amazon Exclusive, with the price starting at Rs. 32,999. With good results in the durability test, we can say that the OnePlus 5T is a sturdy and stylish phone at a good price.
