Xiaomi Mi A1 gets November Security update: No Oreo yet

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi’s first Android One device, the Xiaomi Mi A1 has started receiving the November security patch. The phone runs on Stock Android 7.1.2 Nougat and it comes with Android One programme, hence it gets fast updates.

The update brings improved performance and stability features along with the latest Security patch to the phone. However, the Xiaomi Mi A1 is yet to get an update to Android 8.0 Oreo. The users have already started posting screenshots of notifications upon getting the update.

To recall, the Xiaomi Mi A1 is the first Stock Android smartphone from Xiaomi. It runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat. The phone is also promised to get Android O and Android P updates. The device features a 5.5-inch IPS-LCD display bearing Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution.

In terms of optics, the Xiaomi Mi A1 sports a dual 12 MP (26mm, f/2.2; 50mm, f/2.6) with 2x optical zoom and dual tone (Dual LED) flash. A 5MP front-facing camera is also given for selfies and video calling. Video recording up to 2160p@30fps, 720p@120fps is supported.

In terms of hardware, the Xiaomi Mi A1 comes with a Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. This combination is complemented by 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. There is also expandable storage up to 128GB using a microSD card. The phone is backed by a 3,080 mAh battery and comes with Dual SIM 4G VoLTE compatibility.

The Xiaomi Mi A1 is priced at Rs. 14,999 and available at the Mi Home Stores, Flipkart, Mi.com and certain offline stores including Sangeetha, Poorvika, Big C, LOT, Croma, Pai, Ezone, UniverCell.
