Vodafone introduces the first WiFi-enabled bus shelter in Noida

Telecom operator Vodafone today introduced Noida’s first WiFi-enabled Bus Shelter which will be open for free use by consumers of any telco. The Vodafone Operator agnostic service is now available at the bus shelter in Sector 18 Noida.

The first WiFi-enabled bus shelter in Noida will offer 20 minutes per day of free WiFi to customers of all telcos. This is the third such WiFi bus shelter from Vodafone after Huda City Center and Sector 14, Gurugram. With this initiative, Vodafone is contributing to the Digital India campaign being promoted by the Government and Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

While this is the third WiFi-enabled bus shelter from Vodafone, it is the first in Noida. The shelter will provide 20 minutes/day of free WiFi to users waiting there. A Vodafone number is not a necessity to avail the service. You can follow easy setup instructions to connect to the WiFi.

Apart from the publicly available WiFi bus shelters, Vodafone also has 116 high-speed WiFi hotspots for Vodafone customers. These hotspots are available at prime locations including Khan Market, Dilli Haat (INA), Fortis Hospital (Gurugram) and several colleges and malls. These high-speed hotspots are for Vodafone RED Postpaid users and Vodafone Prepaid users.

To use the high-speed Vodafone hotspots, you need to either have a Vodafone RED postpaid number, which gets you a 10GB quota, or a Vodafone prepaid plan with an internet pack of Rs. 255 or above, which will get you a quota of 1GB.

Mr. Alok Verma Business Head, Vodafone Delhi-NCR commented on the inauguration, “Vodafone is committed to contributing towards making Noida a Smart City. We are very happy to enable citizens across the city to experience world-class Internet services on the go. The Wi-Fi Initiative is a step towards “Digital India” and creating networked and connected societies that will help citizens get on the digital highways and stay connected for Good. With customer needs evolving from voice to data, Wi-Fi is an effective technology to provide seamless connectivity to a large group of consumers in a defined space”.
