BSNL announces Detel D1 for Rs. 499, bundled with voice offers

BSNL has announced its partnership with domestic mobile handset maker Detel to offer a feature phone worth Rs. 499. Dubbed as Detel D1, the feature phone is the first device from the collaboration. The Detel D1 is originally priced at Rs 346, and it comes with BSNL’s bundled tariff plan.

The Detel feature phone by BSNL was announced by Telecom Minister Manoj Sinha in Jaipur. The Detel D1 is a feature phone and it comes with BSNL’s tariff plan without any mobile data. Along with the BSNL Rs 153 plan, the Detel D1 will be made available at Rs. 499, instead of its original price of Rs. 346. BSNL is aiming at basic phone users with this plan as it is just for voice calling.

BSNL Rs. 153 Plan offers

The BSNL Rs. 153 tariff plan which is designed for Detel D1 feature phone offers Rs. 153 in your BSNL account. It offers BSNL to BSNL voice calls at 15 paise/min and BSNL to other network voice calls at 40 paise/min. The talk time and voice calling benefits are valid for 365 days. On top of these benefits, this plan also offers free caller tune for 28 days.

Deter D1 features

Talking about the Detel D1 feature phone, it sports a 1.44-inch black and white display. The phone works on 2G network only and comes with just single SIM support. It is backed by a 650mAh battery. Other features include a Phone Book, a torchlight, and loudspeaker. The phone comes with 1-year warranty.


BSNL will offer its bundled offer with the phone for 1 year and customers will have to pay Rs. 499 while purchasing the phone. Earlier, BSNL partnered with Micromax to launch Bharat 1 feature phone that also came with a monthly bundled pack of Rs. 97 from BSNL. Unlike Detel D1, Micromax Bharat 1 is a 4G feature phone.
