Samsung Galaxy A8 Plus set to launch in India on January 10

Samsung had officially unveiled two new smartphones, the Galaxy A8 (2018) and the Galaxy A8+ (2018) last month in Europe and now, reports have revealed that these smartphones are on their way to India.

Samsung is expected to officially launch these smartphones on January 10 in India. The pricing and availability are still not clear and will be announced on the day of the launch.

The Galaxy A Series from Samsung is the premium series and it comes with the latest features and hardware. The Galaxy A8 (2018) comes with a 5.6 inch display and the Galaxy A8+ (2018) comes with a 6 inch display. Both the devices come with a Super AMOLED Infinity display with full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) resolution.

The Samsung Galaxy A8 comes wit a 5.6 inch Super AMOLED display and the Galaxy A8+ comes with a 6 inch Super AMOLED display. Both the displays come with a resolution of 2220 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18.5:9.


On the hardware part, both the devices feature a 64-bit Exynos 7885 octa-core processor with Mali G71 GPU. The Samsung Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8 Plus come with 4GB/6GB RAM and 32GB/64GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB. Both devices feature a dual camera setup, consisting of 16MP + 8MP sensors for selfies and a single 16MP sensor at the rear as the primary sensor.

Samsung Galaxy A8 imageThe devices feature a 2.5D curved glass at front and rear to support fast and wireless charging with metal frame. The fingerprint sensor is placed at the rear below the camera module and for connectivity, both smartphones come with 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type-C port.

The devices features Live Focus mode to adjust the background blur while capturing the images. The smartphone comes with IP68 water and dust resistant rating and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box.
