Latest WhatsApp beta now lets you switch between voice and video calls

WhatsApp has rolled out a new feature to its Android beta users which lets the users switch between voice and video calls. This feature basically makes switching between voice to video call convenient. This feature has already been rolled out in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android and is expected to be rolled out for other WhatsApp users all around the world soon.

WhatsApp has added a new button in the voice calls to switch from video to voice call or vice versa. If you are on a voice call with your friend and suddenly you want to switch to video call. With this new feature, you don’t have to cut the call and go to the chat list to create a video call. It can now be done by taping a single button in the in-call UI.

With this new feature, the users will see a new button on the screen which will directly switch the audio call to video call or video call to audio. The screenshot posted by WABetaInfo has demonstrated how this feature will work for the users.

This new feature will save time as well as reduce a lot of mess just to switch between voice and video call. The feature is currently available to the WhatsApp beta users with version 2.18.4 and newer. This feature first spotted by WABetaInfo and it looks like the messaging app is the only testing feature and collecting feedback from beta users to make the feature work better.

However, there is no official statement from WhatsApp or Facebook about the official rollout of this feature to all Android users. The chances are that Android users will get this feature first then it might hit the Windows Phone users and the iOS users.
