Chinese smartphone maker has launched a new Qualcomm certified Quick Charge 3.0 charger in India. The charger is compatible with Xiaomi’s Mi MIX 2 and Mi Max 2 smartphones and Qualcomm’s latest two-way fast charging power banks that are Quick Charge 3.0 certified.

Xiaomi already sells its standard 5V-2A charger in India, but the new charger comes with up to 12V and 3A output. Moreover, with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge support it will offer fast charging to the Xiaomi smartphones especially to Mi Mix 2, Mi Max 2 in India.

“We’re delighted to announce that Qualcomm certified Quick Charge 3.0 charger will be now available on mi.com. This new charger can withstand voltage surges up to 380V and is compatible with Mi MIX 2, Mi Max 2, and Mi 5. Now forget about long waiting hours to charge your smartphone. Juice up your smartphone in no time,” writes Xiaomi on its official forum.

Xiaomi Charger features

The new Xiaomi charger has a power output of 5V-3A/9V-2A/12V-1.5A. Moreover, it can withstand voltage surges up to 380V. So, basically, it is similar to chargers that come bundled with its latest Mi A1, Redmi Y1, Redmi 5A and other smartphones. It also has automatic temperature control that can keep the charger below 30-degrees when it is not in use to prevent overheating.

Price and Availability

The Xiaomi Quick Charge 3.0 Charger is priced at Rs. 449. The charger comes only in Black color and is available for purchase on mi.com. This is just Rs. 100 costlier than Xiaomi’s standard 5V-2A charger. The new charger doesn’t come with a USB cable in the box.
