Xiaomi Mi Max 3 with 7-inch display, 5,500mAh battery expected to launch soon

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is reportedly working on the Mi Max 3 which will be an affordable phablet from the company. The leaks and rumors about the device have been doing rounds for a while and now a couple of images of the alleged Mi Max 3 have surfaced online.

The new pictures of Xiaomi Mi Max 3 have been shared by SlashLeaks. The leaked images of the phablet reveal the front and top view of the device. The phone in the pictures appears quite similar to the current Mi Max 2 which suggests there might not be any major upgrades to the phone.

The front of the device is shown in the first picture and from it is suggesting that the Max 3 might feature a bezel-less display with 18:9 aspect ratio and as leaked earlier it might be a 7 inch display. The front view of the device has also revealed the front camera, earpiece, and the sensors.

The second image has revealed the top view of the device and it shows an IR blaster but the 3.5mm headphone jack is missing. So, it is possible that Xiaomi will place the 3.5mm jack at the bottom of the device or may even choose to remove the headphone jack altogether.

If we recall, an earlier leak revealed that the Mi Max 3 would sport a dual camera setup with dual LED flash at the back along with a fingerprint scanner. The antenna lines on the top of the device are visible in the current leaks. The power button and the volume rockers are placed on the right of the device like always.

Mi Max 3 Specifications

The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 specs were leaked along with its pricing on Chinese microblogging site Weibo earlier this month. The phablet is expected to feature a 7 inch full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. As for the cameras, the Max 3 is expected to come with a 12MP rear sensor and a 5MP camera for selfies. It was in contrast to the previous leaks which mentioned a dual camera setup.

The smartphone is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 635 mobile chipset. The Mi Max 3 will come in two variants – 3GB RAM with 64GB storage and 4GB RAM and 128GB storage and will run on Android 7.1.2 Nougat with MIUI 9 skin on top.

The device is expected to be powered by a massive 5,500mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 and reverse charging support. There’s no information about the launch of the Mi Max 3 as of now, but Xiaomi might possibly launch the device alongside the Mi 7 next month. It is expected to be priced around 1,699 Yuan (roughly Rs. 17,100).
