Vodafone now offers 1.4GB data per day with its Rs. 198 plan

Vodafone India has revised its tariff plans to compete with other operators. The telco has revamped its Rs. 198 tariff plan in some circles and now the plan offers 1.4GB data per day, which is in-line with other telecom operator’s unlimited plans.

Vodafone was earlier offering only 1GB data per day with the Rs. 198 plan for 28 days. Now, with 1.4GB data per day, the total data benefit will be 39.2GB which is still less than Jio’s Rs. 198 plan that offers total 56GB data.

Vodafone Rs. 198 revised plan

As mentioned, Vodafone has revised the Rs. 198 plan in some circles including Mumbai and is expected to revise the plan in other circles very soon. As of now, Vodafone prepaid users in Mumbai can enjoy benefits of 1.4GB data per day, unlimited voice calls including roaming and 100 SMS per day for 28 days with Rs. 198 plan.

However, unlike Airtel and Reliance Jio, Vodafone’s plan voice comes with daily and monthly capping on calling. Vodafone customers get 1000 minutes (local +STD) for the period of seven days, and if they consume this, they will be charged at one paisa per second for the rest of the period.

In the second case, customers can use 250 minutes per day and will be charged at one paisa per second after consumption of 250 minutes for the rest of the day until the start of next day. Moreover, customers calling more than 300 unique numbers in a week will also be charged at one paisa per second after 300 unique numbers for the rest of validity.

Plans From Other Operators

The top telecom operators are aggressively revising their tariff plans following Reliance Jio’s plans revision. The Reliance Jio’s Rs. 198 plan offers 2GB data per day, converting to 56GB data for 28 days. Airtel and Idea Cellular have also revised their Rs. 199 prepaid plans and are now offering 1.4GB data per day.

Vodafone did not revise its long validity plans of Rs. 509 and Rs. 459. However, Vodafone India has revised its RED postpaid plans. The company is now offering up to 20 percent discount on the RED postpaid plans which are above Rs. 499. Vodafone has also increased the data by up to 50 percent on some plans.
