Oppo A71 (2018) announced with Snapdragon 450, AI beauty recognition

Chinese smartphone maker Oppo has announced the Oppo A71 (2018) with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC and AI beauty recognition feature. This new upgraded edition of the Oppo A71 (2018) has been launched in Pakistan and Taiwan.

It comes with many similar specifications to the previous variant of the Oppo A71. The device features a 5.2 inch display and runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with CoorOS 3.2. At the same time, the company has added some significant upgrades to the smartphones as well.

Oppo A71 (2018) Specifications

The Oppo A71 2018 comes with 5.2 inch IPS display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution and it runs Android 7.1 Nougat with ColorOS 3.2 skinned on top. This time, the company has added an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor. The chipset is based on 14nm manufacturing process and comes with Adreno 506 GPU for rendering graphics.

For performance, it comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory which can be further expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. It further comes with a 13MP rear camera with an LED flash and f/2.2 aperture.


On the front, the device comes with a 5MP front-facing camera with flash for selfies. The Oppo A71 (2018) features an AI beautification technology which uses artificial intelligence to recognize the skin type, gender, age and skin tone to beautify the selfie. It also recognizes the lighting conditions and referencing them from a massive global photo database.

The Oppo A71 (2018) is powered by a 3,000mAh battery. Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS. The device measures 143.1 x 73.8 x 7.6mm and weighs 137 grams.

The Oppo A71 (2018) has been priced at PKR 19,899 in Pakistan which roughly translates to $179 or Rs. 11,465. The smartphone has been listed in Taiwan and Pakistan online stores and is available in Black and Gold color options.
