Honor starts rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo update for Honor 8 Pro, Honor 9

Honor has already confirmed the Android 8.0 Oreo update for some of the Honor smartphones which includes the Honor 8 Pro as well. Honor has now started to roll out the Android 8.0 Oreo update to the Honor 8 Pro and Honor 9 smartphones. Only a few Honor 8 Pro and Honor 9 smartphones users have received the update in the UK currently. Honor is delivering the update with EMUI 8.0.

Honor 8 Pro is the first smartphone in Honor series which has received the Android 8.0 Oreo update and the Honor 9 will also get it soon. There is no confirmation about the update bring rolled out in the other areas as well, but it won’t be long when all the Honor 8 Pro and Honor 9 smartphone users around the world will get this update.

Honor 9

The update is rolling out in the form of the EMUI 8.0 update. Honor has claimed that that the EMUI 8.0 will provide better boot times and will handle RAM better than before. The company has already cleared the fact that the EMUI 8.0 update which is based on Android 8.0 Oreo for Honor 6X is being worked on.

The EMUI 8.0 features an AI-powered Real-time Scene and object recognition, AI Accelerated Translator and Smart Tips. These features need specific hardware to work on the smartphones properly. Some other features include Smart Resolution, soft nav-bar customizations, navigation dock and one hand operation.

Honor is also working on rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo update on other smartphones which includes Honor 7X, Honor 9i, Honor 8 Pro, Honor 8 Lite, Honor 8 Youth Edition, Honor 9, Honor Note 8, Honor V8, Honor V9 and Honor V10.
