Reliance Jio’s popular JioPhone is now available to purchase via Amazon India. Until now, the feature phone was only available via Reliance Digital stores, Reliance Jio website, MyJio app, and Jio’s partner retail stores.
The JioPhone is now listed on Amazon India and it is priced at Rs. 1,500. As we know, Reliance Jio, while announcing the JioPhone confirmed that they would take a security deposit of Rs. 1,500 which is refundable after three years, if you return the device. So, you can get the phone for effectively free after paying a security deposit of Rs. 1,500.
JioPhone plans, launch offers
The phone comes with Jio’s latest Rs. 49 plan which is especially for JioPhone users. The Rs 49 Jio plan offers unlimited Voice calls and Data for 28 days. The company had introduced the Rs. 153 plan for JioPhone users initially with free voice calls and 500MB data per day with 28 days validity. Earlier this month, the company had increased the data limit in the Rs. 153 plan and it now offers 1GB data per day.
There is an Amazon-specific launch offer as well on the e-com website. Amazon India gives Rs. 50 cashback to customers buying the JioPhone using the Amazon Pay balance. Moreover, customers who will do a mobile recharge using the Amazon Pay balance will also get cashback up to Rs. 50. The offer is applicable until February 28.
JioPhone features
Reliance Jio announced its first 4G feature phone back in July last year with a 2.4-inch display and it runs on KAI operating system. It sports 2MP rear camera and 0.3 MP front camera so you can make video calls as well.
The JioPhone is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor backed by 512MB of RAM. The device has 4GB of internal storage, with microSD support up to 128GB. It also features Wi-Fi, 2000mAh battery, and NFC for digital payments. It comes with HelloJio which is a voice assistant that can make calls, send SMS, open apps, play music and more. Earlier this week, the official Facebook app has been made available via the Jio App Store.
After receiving the device, you will need to visit the nearest Reliance Digital or Jio Store with the device, original box and your Aadhar number for the activation. You can buy JioPhone online via Amazon India.
