Microsoft Surface Pro launched in India starting at Rs 64,999: Full specs, features and more

Software giant Microsoft has stepped up the game in India by introducing the fifth generation Microsoft Surface Pro 2-in-1 tablet here in India. The flagship from the company comes with a base price of Rs. 64,999.

Being the latest offering, the new Microsoft Surface Pro gets many functional and style upgrades over the previous gen. Powered by the seventh-generation Kaby Lake processors, the tablet is claimed to give 13.5 hours of battery life.

This is the fifth generation Microsoft Surface Pro tablet that has come to India now. The company launched the Surface Pro 4 tablet back in 2016. For the uninitiated, the Surface range is a flagship tablet and laptop lineup from Microsoft. These devices are powered by Windows 10 as their default operating system.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 2017 gets a similar 12.3-inch (2736 x 1824p) touch-screen display. While this is the similar panel to the previous generation, this one varies in terms of the build. Weighing just 768 grams, the tablet comes with a thickness of 8.5mm which is good. For optics, the device relies on an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera.


Coming to performance, the tablet is equipped with three processor and graphics options. The first one is a combination of 7th Gen Intel Core m3 with HD Graphics 615 while the other one gets Intel i5 with HD Graphics 620 and finally the Intel i7 with Iris Plus Graphics 640. The tablet offers up to 16GB RAM and up to 512GB SSD hard disk.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 2017 features WiFi, Bluetooth, USB 3.0 port, microSD card reader, Mini Display port, a cover port and Surface Connect as some of the connectivity options. You also get Dolby Audio and Stereo Microphones. There are also accessories that you can connect with the tablet.

Refined accessories for the Microsoft Surface Pro

The Surface Pro can double up as a laptop if you connect certain accessories to it. You can add a Surface Pro Type Cover, which comes in a regular black colour and a signature platinum edition as well. The Surface Pen, which can be used for markups and sketching also gets 4,096 pressure points with integrated optimisation for the apps.
