‘Hack Proof’ SikurPhone with integrated Cryptocurrency wallet launched at #MWC2018

At the #MWC2018, we are seeing innovations from every part of the world gather under one roof. Under our #GTUMWC2018 coverage, we’re now covering the SikurPhone, launched by a Brazilian company at the Mobile World Congress.

While this is not a top spec’d smartphone, the company boasts it to be ‘hack proof’ and it comes with an integrated cryptocurrency wallet. With the increasing number of cases in cryptocurrency hacking and ransomware, the SikurPhone promises hack proof smartphone that securely stores your Cryptocurrency information securely on their cloud. The phone is being sold at a special introductory price.

SikurPhone Specifications

The SikurPhone comes from the Brazilian company Sikur that launched a security focused phone, the GranitePhone last year. This one however, comes with a focus at cryptocurrency. The phone features an integrated cryptocurrency wallet that supports all major denominations. This wallet is connected to the company’s secure cloud to store all your keys remotely.


This means that in case of loss or theft of the phone, you can remotely wipe it and get a new one without losing anything from your cryptocurrency wallet. The device is focused at those who bank on cryptocurrency and wish to keep their online money secure and safe. The SikurPhone does not allow third party apps but you can request them to configure every app you want and they will make it available.

Coming to specifications, the SikurPhone comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. In terms of optics, the phone comes with a 13MP rear camera and packs a front-facing camera as well. The device is powered by a MediaTek MT6750 processor, coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. The SikurPhone runs Android 7.0 based SikurOS and is backed by a 2,800mAh battery.

SikurPhone Pricing and Availability

The SikurPhone is up for pre-order now and will be available for an introductory price of $799, roughly Rs. 52,000 for the first 20,000 units. The phone will ship in August.
