OnePlus 6 coming with a notch display, hinted by OxygenOS firmware files

Like the Notch or not, OnePlus is also going to adapt the new design trend as well, according to a new report that suggest that the OnePlus 6 will be featuring a notch display just like the iPhone X. The OnePlus 6 might also be coming with a 19:9 aspect ratio display which will prevent the 18:9 content from being cropped out because of the notch.

OnePlus 6 Notch design could be real

Earlier today, OnePlus released a new OxygenOS beta update for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T based on the Android 8.1 Oreo. Within the firmware files, XDA Developers found the code name for the next flagship, ‘enchilada’. For reference, the codename for OnePlus 5 and 5T is ‘cheeseburger’ and ‘dumpling’ respectively.

Inside the Settings apk file, XDA Developers has found the codename for the next smartphone and more evidence about the OnePlus 6. Digging deeper into the OxygenOS Open Beta 4 firmware files, an image has been found which is named as “screendecor_up_img_enchilada_1” as seen above. This means that OnePlus engineers are testing app support on the next smartphone with notch display.
