Xiaomi Redmi 5A now comes in Lake Blue color, next sale on March 22

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 5A Lake Blue variant in India after crossing 5 million sales of the budget smartphone. The phone earlier came with the only Black color option at the time of launch and the company later launched the Rose Gold color. Now, the Lake Blue variant is also available to purchase via Flipkart, Mi.com and the next sale is on March 22.

Xiaomi launched the Redmi 5A back in November last year in India and it launched the Rose Gold variant just last month. Today, the company in its forum post along with announcing Lake Blue color variant, confirmed that it had sold 5 million units of Redmi 5A. Which is why the company has increased the starting price of the phone back to Rs. 5,999 from Rs. 4999, as it had offered at the time of launch.

Xiaomi Redmi 5A Specifications

The Xiaomi Redmi 5A features a 5-inch HD IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor and it comes with 2GB or 3GB RAM and 16GB or 32GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

For imaging, the Redmi 5A sports a 13MP rear camera with PDAF, and a 5MP front camera for selfies. Both the cameras are capable of shooting 1080p videos. The phone comes with 4G VoLTE connectivity and is powered by a 3,000mAh battery. The phone runs MIUI 9 on top of Android Nougat 7.1.


Price and Availability

Redmi 5A Lake Blue Edition will be available starting from the first sale on March 15 and the next sale on March 22 via Mi.com and Flipkart. The phone comes at starting price of Rs. 5999 for the 2GB variant. The 3GB variant of Redmi 5A costs Rs. 6,999. The phone is available now in all three color variants.
