Lenovo K5, K5 Play announced: full screen display, dual cameras, more

Lenovo has announced two new smartphones in the budget segment, dubbed as Lenovo K5 and K5 Play in the K series smartphones. Both of the smartphones comes with a full-screen display, dual camera setup at the back, glass back panel, fingerprint sensor and a 3,000mAh battery. The Lenovo K5 is powered by a MediaTek processor and the K5 Play is powered by a Snapdragon processor.

Lenovo K5 Specifications

The Lenovo K5 comes with a 5.7 inch screen with HD+ resolution, 18:9 aspect ratio and 2.5 D curved cover glass panel. The smartphone is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6750 processor running at a clock speed of 1.5GHz. It comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal memory which is expandable via microSD card.

The Lenovo K5 runs on the latest Android 7.1 Nougat with ZUI 3.1 Lite. It comes with a hybrid dual SIM card slot. The rear camera is a dual lens setup which includes a 13MP sensor and a 5MP sensor with LED flash and f/2.0 aperture. The selfie camera is an 8MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture. The smartphone comes with 4G VoLTE, Wi-FI, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It is powered by a 3,000mAh battery.

Lenovo K5 Play Specifications

The Lenovo K5 Play comes with the same specifications and hardware design. It has the same 5.7 inches HD+ display. It runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor with a 1.5GHz clock rate and 2GB / 3GB RAM. The smartphone features 16GB and 32GB internal memory with micro SD card expansion.


The Lenovo K5 Play is running the Android 8.0 Oreo with ZUI 3.7 out of the box. The rear camera setup consists of a 13MP + 2MP shooter and the selfie camera is an 8MP shooter. All the connectivity options are similar to the Lenovo K5 and the battery also comes with the same 3,000mAh capacity.

Pricing and Availability

The Lenovo K5 and Lenovo K5 Play are both available in three color variants – Black, Grey, and Blue. The devices are are priced at 899 Yuan (Rs. 9,261) for Lenovo K5 and 699 Yuan (Rs 7,200) for Lenovo K5 Play in China.
