Google Home and Google Home Mini smart speakers India launch set for April 10

Google has sent out invites for a launch event on April 10 in India and the company might be launching its smart speakers- Google Home and Google Home Mini at the event. The invite says that it will bring a sweet little something that’s bound to keep you talking for a long, long while, which hints at Google Home.

Google introduced its Google Home smart speaker back in October 2016 and the Home Mini was introduced in October last year. Google India has tweeted earlier today that the speakers are coming soon without confirming the launch date. According to a report from ET, they will launch the smart speakers at the event and the speakers will be priced at Rs. 9,999 and Rs. 4,499, respectively.

The report further states that Google also plans to launch a mid-range Pixel smartphone focused on price-sensitive markets such as India sometime in July-August. It adds that Google also has plans to launch Google Wi-Fi and Pixelbook in India soon.

Google Home and Google Home Mini

Google Home is a smart speaker that not only plays music but also helps in managing tasks and answers questions through simple voice commands. You can activate the speaker by just saying “Ok Google” and then command to play music or any other task. The smart speaker plays music using Google Play Music, Pandora, Spotify, and YouTube Music.

The Google Home comes with a speaker featuring a 2-inch driver and dual 2-inch passive radiators on each side. On the top of the speaker, you get the touch panel with four LED lights, which helps you in adjusting the volume, pause or play music, and call up the Google Assistant.

Google Home Mini is the compact version of Google Home that was launched just last year along with Pixel 2 smartphones. The speaker sports fabric speaker grill at the top and a plastic-looking base at the bottom and has three micro-LED lights on top. It is about 4-inches in diameter and about 1.5-inch tall. According to the company, its sound is quite good going by its size and it’s capable of making itself heard in a medium-sized room.
