Xiaomi-funded Black Shark has today launched the much anticipated Black Shark Gaming Phone in China. The gaming phone is made by Black Shark and features some premium features especially for an immersive gaming experience. It also comes with a Gamepad that can easily attach to the side of the phone. Xiaomi Black Shark gaming phone price starts at 2999 CNY.
The Black Shark gaming smartphone was briefly leaked earlier. Now, the company which is funded by Xiaomi has officially announced the phone in China. The gaming smartphone comes with great features for smooth gaming experience such as a 5.99-inch FHD+ display, Snapdragon 845 SoC with up to 8GB RAM, liquid cooling to keep the phone cool when gaming.
Xiaomi Black Shark Gaming Phone Specifications
Starting with the design first, it is purely designed for gamers. The metal body frame comes with a glowing logo on the back of the phone. The home button consists a fingerprint sensor that you can use to quickly access several features such as silent mode, DND and more while gaming. It also has ‘X-style’ unique antenna design so that there are no signal issues. Moreover, it has a dedicated One-touch SHARK key for a better gaming experience.
The smartphone features a 5.99-inch Full HD+ (2160 × 1080 pixels) 18:9 display with 97% DCI-P3 color gamut, and 550 nits brightness. The Dual SIM (Nano) phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo. The phone is powered by a 2.8GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform with Adreno 630 GPU and 6GB or 8GB RAM. It comes with 64GB or 128GB UFS 2.1 internal storage.
In the camera department, it sports a dual rear camera with a 12MP primary camera with f/1.75 aperture, 1.25µm pixel size, dual-tone LED flash, and a secondary 20MP secondary camera with 1.0µm pixel size, and f/1.75 aperture. Up front, there is a 20MP camera with 1.0µm pixel size and f/2.2 aperture.
The smartphone also features Dual Smart PA and Hi-Fi Audio. It has a dedicated image processing chip from Pixelworks that offers intelligent motion compensation technology, image enhancement, dark scene detail processing for smooth gaming video quality.
The Xiaomi Black Shark gaming phone comes with a game pod that has model number H66. It uses Bluetooth 4.0 and works on devices running Android 4.4 or later. The game pod packs a 150mAh battery with up to 3.5 hours play time and 30 hours of standby.
Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac dual-band (2×2 MU-MIMO), Bluetooth 5, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, and USB Type-C. The phone packs a 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.
Pricing and Availability
The Xiaomi Black Shark is priced at 2999 yuan (Rs. 31,160 approx.) for the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage version. While the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage version costs 3499 yuan (Rs. 36,375 approx.). The Gamepad costs 179 yuan (Rs. 1,860 approx.). The phone is available for order in China starting from today.
