Huawei has quietly introduced a new phone in its Y series dubbed as the Huawei Y6 (2018). The new smartphone brings a lot of features from the latest Huawei smartphones, including Face Unlock, 18:9 FullView display and some music-focused features.
The Huawei Y6 (2018) is the successor to last year’s Y6 Pro. The phone is currently listed on Huawei’s global website. As per the listing, it comes in Blue, Black, and Gold color options. The phone hasn’t been launched yet so the price and availability details are to be confirmed.

As per the official listing, the dual-SIM Huawei Y6 (2018) features a 5.7-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) FullView display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved glass protection on top. The phone runs on EMUI 8.0 that is based on Android 8.0 Oreo.
It is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC, paired with Adreno 308 GPU and 2GB of RAM. On the storage front, the Huawei Y6 (2018) has 16GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 256GB via microSD.
For imaging, the Huawei Y6 (2018) sports a 13-megapixel camera on the back with an LED flash and a 5MP camera sensor on the front. The front camera also has features like selfie toning flash and an AR lens. Moreover, the phone uses the front camera to enable the Face Unlock feature.
The smartphone has 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, and a Micro-USB port as connectivity options. Sensors on the phone include an ambient light sensor, gravity sensor, and a proximity sensor. The smartphone packs a 3000mAh battery.
Coming to the music-focused features, it packs a loudspeaker that is touted to produce 88dB sound. The company also claims that the smartphone offers 78 percent more sound from the body speaker. It also packs Huawei’s Histen technology that optimizes the audio experience by mimicking environments such as theatre or concert hall through connected earphones. The handset also has a Karaoke mode as well.
