Sony launches headphones, wireless speakers in India starting at Rs. 2,290

In order to expand its audio portfolio, Sony has launched its new line-up of audio products in India. The company is introducing six new wireless headphones and three new Bluetooth speakers here. The Bluetooth speakers, as well as headphones, will be available via all Sony Centers and major electronic stores across India.

The new Sony headphone line-up consists of the WF-SP700N, WI-SP600N, WI-SP500, WI-C300, WH-CH400, and WH-CH500. All are head-on earphones which support NFC and Bluetooth and also supports Sony’s Extra Bass range. The new Bluetooth speakers, SRS-XB41, SRS-XB31 and SRS-XB21, are dust and water resistant and have a fabric finish.

Sony Headphones Features

The WF-SP700N headphone is the world’s first active noise canceling earphone with a splashproof (IPX4 rated) design. It comes with a charging case that provides an additional 6 hours of juice. The earphones last 3 hours on a single charge. It has a 6mm driver unit and an Ambient Sound mode that allows you to filter in the surrounding noise.

The Wi-SP600N supports noise cancellation and comes with a neckband-style design and an in-line remote. It is also IPX4 rated for water resistance and can offer a battery life of 6 hours. The WI-SP 500 has a neckband style design, 8 hours battery life, and comes with 13.5mm open drivers for ambient sound. All the three earphones are also set to get Google Assistant support soon.

The WH-CH500, WH-CH400, and WI-C300 earphones already have Google Assistant support built right in. The WH-CH500 and WH-CH400 are over-the-ear wireless headphones that can offer up to 20 hours of battery life. The WI-C300 has an in-ear design and a battery life of up to 8 hours.

Sony Bluetooth speakers

The new Bluetooth speakers – SRS-XB41, SRS-XB31 and SRS-XB21 sports 2.5x brighter lights as compared to earlier speakers and a new fabric finish which the company claims makes them sound more natural. They are also IP67 rated for dust and water resistance, rustproof and washable.

Being the Extra Bass range, they are tuned to deliver deep bass and are best for EDM and hip-hop music. The speakers have a built-in accelerometer with a new feature called Party Booster. The speakers can generate a sound and lighting reaction as well. The SRS-XB41 and SRS-XB31 have a claimed battery life of up to 24 hours, while the SRS-XB21 lasts 12 hours on a single charge.

Price and Availability

The WF-SP700N headphone has been priced at Rs. 15,990 and will be available starting May 15, the Wi-SP600N is priced at Rs. 9,990 and will be available from May 25, the WI-SP 500 is priced at Rs 4,990 and is already available starting April 16, the WH-CH500, WH-CH400, and WI-C300 earphones are priced at Rs. 4,990, Rs. 3,790 and Rs. 2,990 respectively.

The three new Bluetooth speakers – SRS-XB41, SRS-XB31, and SRS-XB21 are priced at Rs. 13,990, Rs. 9,990 and Rs. 7,990 respectively. All three speakers are set to go on sale starting April 16.
