After earlier news of Xiaomi working on Redmi S2 surfaced last week, the phone has now been certified by Chinese certification agency TENAA. The certification reveals the key specs of the upcoming budget Redmi S2 phone. It has model number M1803E6E, features an 18:9 display, is powered by Snapdragon 625, runs Android 8.1 Oreo, and has dual rear camera.
Earlier last week, XDA-developers managed to get the information from the firmware files revealing the Redmi S2 launch in China. Though the firmware revealed it will have a 5-megapixel front camera, however, the TENAA certification site now reveals a 16MP front camera. Other specs are in-line with the previous leak.

As per the certification, Xiaomi Redmi S2 has a unibody design with antennas on the top and the bottom parts of the phone and it has a fingerprint sensor on the back. It also features face unlock functionality. It has a 5.99-inch HD+ (1440 × 720 pixels) 18:9 2.5D curved glass display.

The phone is powered by a 2GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 processor with Adreno 506 GPU. It packs 2GB RAM with 16GB storage, 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. The storage is expandable up to 128GB with microSD.
Camera wise, it sports a dual rear camera setup with 12MP primary Sony IMX486/Omni Vision OV12A10 sensor with LED Flash, PDAF, EIS and a secondary 5MP camera with Samsung S5K5E8 sensor. Up front, there might be a 16MP front-facing camera.
The Hybrid Dual SIM (Nano + Nano / microSD) phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 9 on top. Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz / 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS. The phone will pack a 3000mAh battery.
The Xiaomi Redmi S2 is expected to go official along with the Mi 6X on Wednesday in China. The phone is a budget phone and it will come in Black, Rose Gold, Gold, White, Blue, Red, Pink, Gray, and Silver color options.
