Samsung Galaxy Note 9 with revamped camera may launch on August 9

Samsung is currently working on launching its next Note series flagship dubbed as Galaxy Note 9 before the year ends. Today, according to a new report, Samsung is said to be working on revamping the camera of the flagship.

Bloomberg reports that Samsung is planning to unveil its next Galaxy Note smartphone on August 9, according to people familiar with the matter. The report also adds the Galaxy Note 9 will come with an upgraded camera as the highlight.

Earlier, there were reports that the Galaxy Note 9 launch might be delayed by two weeks because of slight design change suggested by the company’s vice-president. In contradiction, the new report from sources familiar with the matter claims that the unpacked event which might take place in New York said to be coming about two weeks earlier this year than last year’s Galaxy Note 8 launch.

It’s already known that the upcoming Note series flagship from Samsung will include an upgraded processor from Qualcomm which is the Snapdragon 845 for some markets and Exynos 9810 in others including India. Previous rumors suggest that the Galaxy Note 9 could feature a bigger 6.4-inch display and up to 4,000mAh battery. Also, the benchmark listing of Galaxy Note 9 revealed some of the key specs such as 6GB RAM and Android 8.1 Oreo.


Samsung’s last flagship this year, Galaxy S9 has seen a good reception. According to IDC report, Samsung has had a 23% market share in Q1 2018 compared to 16% of Apple. So, they might push Galaxy Note 9 launch a little later, however, this August 9 launch date could also be possible.

Samsung is also working on a smart speaker supported by its digital assistant Bixby to take on Amazon’s Echo line of smart speakers, Apple’s HomePod, and Google Home.
