After being teased last week, the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play have been launched in India at an event in Delhi. The two smartphones will take over from last year’s Moto G5s series in the Lenovo-owned brand’s portfolio. The Moto G6 has been confirmed to be an Amazon-exclusive, while the Moto G6 Play will be available only via Flipkart.
The Moto G6 series smartphones were launched globally in Brazil last month. Earlier this week, Motorola teased that the Moto G6 launch in India would happen soon and now the company has confirmed the launch. Notably, the Moto G6 Plus model that was also unveiled in Brazil will not be launched for the domestic market at today’s event. The Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play have the same display size and RAM and vary in terms of battery, camera, and hardware.
Moto G6, G6 Play Price in India, launch offers
The Moto G6 price has been set as Rs. 13,999 in India and the Moto G6 Play is priced at Rs. 11,999. There are certain launch offers with both the phones as well. On purchasing Moto G6, HDFC customers will get instant Rs. 1,250 discount, while Airtel Prepaid users will get Rs. 2,000 cashback. There are no-cost EMI options as well.
While for Moto G6 Play, ICICI bank customers will get Rs. 1,000 discount. Reliance Jio has also offers extra data to Moto G6 Play buyers. Also, Paytm Mall will offer cashback on purchasing the device.
Moto G6 Specifications
Talking about the specs, the Moto G6 has a 5.7-inch Full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio and it the first phone from Motorola with a full-screen display. Powering the Moto G6 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset coupled with 3GB/4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of internal storage.
The device sports dual rear camera setup with a 12MP primary and 5MP secondary sensors. There is an 16MP selfie camera. The phone packs a 3,000mAh battery and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. For connectivity, the smartphone has 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, USB Type-C, NFC and a 3.5mm earphone jack.
Moto G6 Play Specifications
Coming to the Moto G6 Play, it comes with entry-level specs and sports a 5.7-inch HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The device is powered by Snapdragon Snapdragon 430 SoC coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage.
In the camera department, it sports a 13MP single rear camera and an 8MP selfie camera. It also runs on Android 8.0 Oreo. The highlight of the Moto G6 Play is its large 4000mAh battery with Turbo Charge support. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Moto G6, G6 Play Availability
As mentioned above, Moto 6 will be available via Amazon India starting today, and the Moto G6 Play will go on sale via Flipkart starting from today itself. The devices will also be available offline via Moto Hubs across the country.
