Xiaomi is all set to launch its latest Redmi 6 series on June 12 in China. The company has released an official poster on Weibo revealing the launch date of Redmi 6. The Redmi 5’s successor Redmi 6 had surfaced online back in May on Chinese certification site along with its variants that could be Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 Pro.
Xiaomi has not revealed exactly how many Redmi 6 variants will be unveiled at June 12 event. The official teaser poster suggests the Redmi 6 launch on June 12. However, just like the Redmi 5 series, the company might unveil two or more models in the Redmi 6 series. Apart from the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A as spotted on TENAA, we will also get to see the Redmi 6 Pro as well on the same day.
Redmi 6/6A Specifications
Three new Xiaomi smartphones with model number M1804C3CC, M1804C3DE and M1804C3CE have been certified on TENAA. The listing reveals that the smartphones feature 5.45-inch 18:9 display and the latest Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 9 on top.
The M1804C3DE model comes with a dual rear camera setup and could be Redmi 6 while the other smartphone without a fingerprint scanner could be the Xiaomi Redmi 6A. The smartphone will be powered by a 2GHz Quad-Core processor and could be launched in various memory and storage variants. These phones will get a 3,000mAh battery.
Redmi 6 Pro specifications
Another Xiaomi Redmi 6 smartphone with model number M1805D1SE also received TENAA certification last month and we expect it could be the Redmi 6 Pro. The Redmi 6 Pro will flaunt a 5.84-inch Full HD+ display on the front with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and 2280 x 1080 pixels resolution which means a notch display and it will be the first Redmi phone with a notch.
The listing further revealed the phone will come with a 2.0 GHz processor and it could be the Snapdragon 625 chipset. Furthermore, the device will sport dual cameras at the back- a 12MP shooter along with a 5MP shooter. The phone will have a 3,900mAh battery.
So, there are chances that Xiaomi will be unveiling three smartphones on June 12 – Xiaomi Redmi 6, Xiaomi Redmi 6 Plus or Pro and the entry-level Redmi 6A as revealed by TENAA certification recently.
