Huawei Nova 3 Launched with 6.3-inch Notch Display, Dual Rear and Front Cameras

Huawei has announced the latest smartphone in its Nova series dubbed as Nova 3 in China. The Huawei Nova 3 comes with a 6.3-inch curved glass display with a notch, is powered by Kirin 970 processor and sports dual front and rear cameras.

The new Huawei Nova 3 is the successor to Nova 2i which was announced last year. This new flagship phone from Huawei has several improvements over its previous model. Interestingly, it has a 16MP+24MP AI-powered rear cameras and 24MP+2MP front cameras.

Huawei Nova 3 Features, Specifications

If we talk about specs, the Nova 3 sports a 6.3-inch FHD+(2340 x 1080 pixels) 3D curved glass display with a notch on top. It features a glass back with a fingerprint sensor and also supports face unlock feature that uses infrared light to detect face even in low light conditions. The phone also has a new feature called 3D Qmoji, similar to Apple’s Animoji.

It is powered by Huawei’s Kirin 970 processor with Mali-G72 MP12 GPU and an i7 co-processor with NPU and GPU Turbo. Memory wise, it packs 6GB RAM, and up to 128GB internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB with microSD. The phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.2 on top.


For optics, it has quad camera setup. It has a 16MP primary rear camera with LED flash, f/1.8 aperture, PDAF, CAF, and a 24MP secondary rear camera with f/1.8 aperture. The rear camera supports AI features that can detect over 500 scenes. Up front, there is a 24MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, and a secondary 2MP camera for depth effects.

The phone has several connectivity options such as Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, and USB Type-C. It has a 3750mAh battery with fast charging support. Dimensions of the phone are 157.0×73.7×7.3mm.

Price and availability

The Huawei Nova 3 pricing has not been announced yet. The phone comes in Purple, Black, Blue and Gold colors and is available for pre-order from Vmall in China. It will go on sale from July 20.
