Previously, an alleged OnePlus 6T retail box had leaked online that revealed a few features like waterdrop notch and in-display fingerprint sensor. Now, OnePlus has officially confirmed to CNET that the OnePlus 6T will sport an in-display fingerprint sensor.

As per CNET’s report, OnePlus said, “We unlock our phones multiple times a day and Screen Unlock reduces the number of steps to complete the action. By adding this feature as an addition to other display unlocking options such as Face Unlock, users will have options to unlock the display in a way that is most efficient for them.”

OnePlus 6T will sport a little-tweaked design from the OnePlus 6 because of the addition of in-display fingerprint scanner. The company says that the upcoming flagship will be thicker than the OnePlus 6 by 0.45mm and it will sport a more unibody look as there is no rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

OnePlus 6T Expected Specifications

If past rumors to be believed, the OnePlus 6T will come with a 6.4-inch Optic AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch similar to the latest Oppo smartphones. It will be powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core chipset. In terms of camera, the OnePlus 6T is expected to feature a triple rear camera setup similar to the one on Oppo R17 Pro. Moreover, the selfie camera on the OnePlus 6T is likely to be upgraded also. The OnePlus 6T will ship with the Android 9 Pie out of the box. The dash charging tech from the company is also expected to improve with OnePlus 6T.
