Oppo opens the first ever PUBG themed store in India

Chinese smartphone maker Oppo has opened the first ever PUBG themed store in India in Bangalore. The smartphone making company recently partnered with Tencent Games to organize India’s biggest eSports Championship, ‘Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds MOBILE Campus Championship 2018’.

The championship witnessed total of 10,000 teams from over 2000 colleges from across the country. The month-long action-packed tournament finally ended yesterday on October 21 at the first ever PUBG themed Oppo store in Bangalore. The winners were awarded with a prize worth of Rs. 50 Lakhs.

Coming to the Oppo store, this PUBG themed store is designed while keeping in mind the growing popularity of PUBG Mobile. The store has been designed like the battleground in the game. Along with the combat feel, consumers can also move away from the virtual step into the PUBG world by experiencing the game in the store with the Oppo F9 Pro that acted like a perfect gear for all the gamers in this championship.

Talking about the features, the Oppo F9 Pro sports a 6.3-inch FHD+(1080×2340 pixels) resolution with a high screen-to-body ratio and a new ‘waterdrop’ display. This helped participants achieve maximum kills to reach the finale. After rounds of amazing performance that lead to ‘winner winner chicken dinner’, 20 teams competed at the finale. The ultimate winner was awarded a prize money of Rs. 50 lakhs.

Speaking on the announcement, Mr. Will Yang, Brand Director, OPPO India, said,

With PUBG’s massive success amongst the youngster, we are delighted to announce the revamp of our brand showroom based on PUBG. Our unique showroom has been designed to cater to the youth of India who are continuously following new and interesting trends in the market. By leveraging this partnership with Tencent Games, OPPO wants to strengthen its relationship with the youngsters as the F9 Pro is the perfect combination for unified and unique experience.”
