Oppo R series phone to launch in India soon, R17 series expected

Oppo announced that it would launch an R Series smartphone in India soon. The company shared a teaser on its Twitter handle that shows the side profile of a smartphone in Purple color. It doesn’t give any other hint of the upcoming phone. However, it is likely that the company will launch the R17 or R17 Pro smartphones here that were introduced in China earlier.

OPPO R17 specifications

The Oppo R17 sports a 6.4-inch FHD+(2280 x 1080 pixels) 19:9 aspect ratio display with Gorilla Glass 6 protection. It is powered by Snapdragon 670 10nm processor with Adreno 615 GPU. It packs 6GB or 8GB RAM and 128GB internal memory. The smartphone runs ColorOS 5.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.

In terms of camera, it sports dual rear camera setup with a 16MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture and a 5MP secondary camera. It has a 25MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture, AI features and 3D Portrait mode.

The device sports an in-display fingerprint sensor. Connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, and USB Type-C. It packs a 3500mAh battery with VOOC Flash charge support.

The Oppo R17 Pro also sports a similar 6.4-inch FHD+ (2280×1080 pixels) 19:9 display with waterdrop notch and Gorilla Glass 6 protection. It is powered by Snapdragon 710 10nm chipset with Adreno 616 GPU. It pairs 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

In terms of camera, it sports triple rear camera set up with a 12MP primary camera with f/1.5/2.4 variable aperture, a 20MP secondary camera with f/2.6 aperture and a TOF 3D camera. It also has a 25MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture.

The phone also sports an in-display fingerprint sensor. The smartphone runs ColorOS 5.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The dual-SIM phone has Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, USB 3.1 Type-C, and NFC as connectivity options. It is powered by a 3700mAh battery with SuperVOOC fast charging support.
