Samsung Galaxy A8s with a display hole for selfie camera launching on December 10

Samsung has confirmed the launch date of its Galaxy A8s smartphone. The phone will have a new design with a display hole for the front camera. The same design is also teased by Huawei but Samsung is going to be the first company to launch a phone with this unique design.

Samsung shared a poster on Weibo that confirmed the launch of Galaxy A8s smartphone on December 10. The poster shows the outline of the phone and the camera hole on the top left corner. The Galaxy A8s will sport a true bezel-less display without notch and chin. This display will be called the Infinity-O display.

Galaxy A8s rumored specifications

According to some previous leaks, the Samsung Galaxy A8s is expected to sport a 6.39-inch FHD+ display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It is said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The storage will be expandable up to 512GB via microSD card.

In terms of cameras, the Galaxy A8s is expected to sport triple rear cameras at the back. There will be a combination of a 24MP, a 5MP, and a 10MP sensor. Up front, it will sport a 24MP sensor placed in the display hole. The display hole is said to be of 6.7mm in size.


The handset is rumored to pack a 3,400mAh battery and it will have a USB Type-C port. The phone is also reported to come without a 3.5mm headphone jack. The dimensions of the smartphone will be 159.11×74.88×7.38mm. The smartphone will be introduced in a Black-Grey gradient color option. We will know more details about Galaxy A8s when it goes official next week.
